Darpan Registration
Darpan Registration, or NGO-Darpan, is an online method for registering that was created by:
NITI Aayog,
with the help of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
It gives Trusts, Societies, and Section 8 Companies in India a unique ID called the NGO-Darpan ID.
Any NGO that wishes to:
Ask for government money,
Work with the main ministries,
Work with government agencies, or
Get involved in CSR initiatives that are connected to government programs
must register on the portal.
It makes NGOs more open, trustworthy, and well-known.
Why Darpan Registration is Important
✅ Who Can Get Government Grants
Without a Darpan ID, no NGO can get money, projects, or plans from the central ministries.
✅ Increases Trustworthiness
Because all the information is checked, funders, businesses, and CSR partners trust NGOs listed on the platform more.
✅ Makes an Identity That Is Real
It serves as official confirmation of the NGO's legal existence and how it works.
✅ Gateway to CSR Partnerships
Many businesses like NGOs with Darpan ID since it makes due diligence easier.
✅ Easier to Talk To
Ministries and departments can get in touch with registered NGOs directly about project prospects.
