ESI Registration1
The Employees' State Insurance Act of 1948 says that everyone must be registered for Employees' State Insurance (ESI). It protects workers financially when they get sick, have a baby, become disabled, get hurt on the job, or die because of a safety issue at work.
The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), which is a legal body under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, runs the plan.
Every business that is qualified must sign up for ESI so that it can offer its employees easy access to medical and financial help at a low cost.
When do I have to register for ESI?
You have to register for ESI when:
✅ At least 10 people work for the company (20 in some states), and
✅ Workers can make up to ₹21,000 a month, or ₹25,000 for disabled people.
The business must register and pay the right amount, even if only a few of its workers make less than the minimum wage.
Organizations that want to give their workers more health perks can also register voluntarily.
Steps to Take to Register for ESI

Sign up on the ESIC Portal and make password information for your workplace.
Give information about the business, such as its address, type, and amount of workers.
Enter the employee's personal information, date of hire, and pay.
Upload the necessary files, such as a staff list, an incorporation license, and proof of address.
Self-Certification and Verification: Make sure the information is correct.
Get an ESIC code with 17 digits – This will be the unique registration number for your business.
Once you are registered, you must file and pay your monthly ESI fees in order to stay in compliance.
